We believe adaptive riders should have the same access to outdoor recreation opportunities as everyone else. We are proud to be a partner of Teton Adaptive Sports! 2022 was our second season as an Adaptive Approved business. Thanks to the support of Teton Adaptive Sports, we have a fleet of adaptive trikes to serve individuals living with a disability. Our team is specially trained to provide a high level of personalized service through delivery, fitting and equipment orientation. We are so happy to serve our local community and visitors to the Tetons. Our adaptive program is one of our favorite parts of what we do at Wheel Wranglers! We are excited to share this note we received from Martin M. and his family. In June, we connected his teenage son Alex who is living with cerebral palsy to a great riding experience as a family. We are grateful for the opportunity to make it possible for anyone to connect to this special place by bike!
“Being able to ride along with Alex in his red Ferrari [our red adaptive foot-pedaled trike] and seeing his confidence, his pride and his joy is an experience that will lasts with all of us forever. Alex had been to a bike camp to get comfortable, and we have undertaken many efforts to give him a chance to feel safe and one with the wobbly and scary upright bikes with ever increasing support wheel sizes and mixed success.
Even before the journey started just being the kind, caring and supportive team that you are on the phone to answer all the outstanding questions and being mindful of anything that could come up instantly put the parental hearts at ease. Better than advertised! Smooth and easy.
From the moment your team dispatched to our rental property at Teton Village and with every ounce of patience setting us up for success. It took us no time at all to actually get on that path and not bike 3 or 6 or 12 but 15 miles while passing eagles in their natural habitat and taking in the breath-taking scenery. The twins riding alongside each other for the first time ever in a public setting as if it was no big deal. Seeing the flag bopping cheerfully in the wind, the red Ferrari was so smooth and so sleek that while riding it genuinely felt like this is something we have done many, many times.
We now have the water bottles still as mementos to keep reminiscing about the joy and happiness of this experience. The service and quality of resources you provide to make riding a bike the equivalent of shaping memories and moments that are part of the way our wheels will turn and our hearts will be beating fondly every time we look at these images and reminisce. Thank you for being inclusive and being focused on making a difference …. It is noted, it is appreciated, and it is the impact that you are setting out to make! Thank you for being adaptive rider oriented and being the team that leads with heart and care.”
